Cutting fluid is an industrial fluid used in the metal cutting and grinding process of CNC machine tools to cool and lubricate tools and machined parts. The cutting fluid is scientifically compounded by a variety of functional additives, and has good cooling performance, lubrication performance, rust resistance, degreasing and cleaning function, anti-corrosion function and easy dilution. It overcomes the problems of the traditional soap based emulsion that is easy to smell in summer, difficult to dilute in winter, and poor rust prevention effect. It also has no adverse effect on lathe paint. It is suitable for the cutting and grinding of ferrous metals. It is a suitable grinding product at present.
If there is no cutting fluid for machining, the tool and workpiece of the machine tool are easy to deform and rust under high temperature. Therefore, the machine tool must use cutting fluid in machining to avoid such undesirable phenomena.
The thermal conductivity of the cutting fluid is also very important, because high pump speed will raise the temperature of the cutting fluid, which will generate large foam, reduce the cooling effect of the cutting fluid, reduce the tool life, and affect the machining accuracy of the CNC vertical machining center. Therefore, the cutting fluid should have high heat conductivity. At the same time, the storage tank should be large enough to cool the recycled cutting fluid, and even have cutting fluid cooling facilities.
The cutting fluid shall be low foam, with good mixing stability and separation resistance. Foam is sometimes caused by too soft water quality. Of course, distilled water with low mineral content is not acceptable. Foam makes the air block the combination of the cutting fluid and the cutting area, can not play the role of cooling or lubrication, can not make the cutting fluid well filtered, and is more likely to make the cutting fluid overflow the water tank. Therefore, we must remember that the use of cutting fluid must be standardized and strictly follow the regulations to solve the problem.
For this reason, we have sorted out several aspects about how to use the cutting fluid correctly:
First, pay attention to the cleaning of metal debris and dust, mold mucus, decomposition of cutting fluid itself, grinding wheel dust and other sundries in all parts of the production line during the production process. In the whole production process, this is a very critical and especially easy to be ignored problem. The existence of foreign matters will not only damage the seal of the pump, increase tool wear, damage human skin, and affect the processing quality.
Second, control the temperature of the cutting fluid and the temperature of the environment, and pay attention to the bacteriostatic treatment of the cutting fluid. In a high temperature environment, bacteria breed. Because the bacteria in the cutting fluid will emit an unpleasant and pungent taste, the efficacy of the cutting fluid will be affected over time, so the bacteriostasis must be controlled well. The concentration parameters of cutting fluid shall be tested by Refractometer regularly. If the concentration is relatively high, the cutting fluid is easy to cause allergy to the operator's skin. If the concentration is too low, it will cause a lot of corrosion of bacteria.
Third, the pH value of the cutting fluid should be regularly detected. The suitable value of the pH value is 8.3-9.2. Too high or too low will affect the efficiency of the cutting fluid or increase the breeding environment of bacteria. Therefore, the pH value of the cutting fluid should be paid attention to and regularly detected.
Fourth, there are bubbles in the cutting fluid, which affect normal production and pollute the processing environment. At the same time, leakage of the cutting fluid from the machine tool will also reduce the cleaning ability of the cutting fluid. If such problems occur in production, some defoamers can be appropriately added to reduce bubbles.
The correct use of cutting fluid can not only reduce the production cost, reduce the labor intensity of workers, improve the workshop working environment, reduce environmental pollution, but also improve the working efficiency of processing, which is also an important link for enterprises to produce high-quality products.
